We'll be visiting NZ in March and would love to meet up with any related Hays. We've traced our line back to the Gordon lands in Fochabers, Morayshire to John Hay, 1731- 1888. John Hay married Catherine Batchen (1739-1825) in Fochabers. Emigrated to New Brunswick, Canada in 1784.

My geneology for the hay family is still within the 100+ years, but my dads cousin also does and has done extensive geneology for her family throughout her life and i plan to get in contact with her later this Feb. If nobody else offers you a more closely tied connection then maybe more out of interest you would like to get together and chat =)
If you'd like to do this then just give me a shout through email.
I will also be starting Uni in the march of this year and I live in Auckland.
